Coming all the way from Israel (aka the vegan capital of the world), Orit Ofir (M Sc. R.D) is a Clinical Dietitian and Natural Nutritionist (N.D.). She is a leading advocate in Israel for vegan and plant-based diets, appearing regularly on TV and radio shows, and speaking in prominent health conventions for the general and professional public. Plant-based diets with the vegan diet at its pinnacle, have been proven to be an effective way to live up to this ancient ideal.
In a fascinating lecture, we will explore the whys and hows of plant-powered health including:
* The scientific evidence regarding plant-based diets and the prevention and treatment of ‘The diseases of affluence’ – cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and cancer.
* The 5 plant food groups and the various plant sources for important nutrients such as protein, iron, calcium and omega 3.
* Common myths regarding soy, dairy, vitamin B12 and more.
