The newly‑formed Plant‑Based Food Alliance UK has called on the government to support the shift away from animal products to hit net zero goals. Backed by Oatly, Alpro and The Vegan Society, the group wants environmental labelling, public health campaigns, and schemes to help farmers transition to plant niche production. Research from Oxford highlights a plant based diet could cut individual carbon footprints by up to 73 per cent.
