July is a peak month for fresh, homegrown produce here. Juicy berries, including raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. They are at their best, great for puddings or snacking. Tomatoes ripen under the sun, bursting with flavour, while cucumbers, courgettes (you may have spotted some in our JVS Community Garden). Thriving this month are peppers. They bring much needed colour and crunch to summer salads. Sweetcorn begins to appear, and tender green beans are abundant. Herbs like basil and mint also thrive, adding fragrance to seasonal dishes. Leafy greens, carrots, and beetroot remain plentiful. Choosing British seasonal produce in July means fresher ingredients, fewer food miles, and support for local growers. All of which are ideal for enjoying the true taste of summer.
