May: UK seasonal produce

May is peak season for some delightful British produce. Asparagus is stealing the spotlight right now, perfect served grilled and hot or tossed chilled in salads. Strawberries are also finally sweet and juicy enough to snack on all day. Rhubarb is serving up that tart energy for our crumbles. Fresh peas, spinach and new potatoes are giving major spring energy too. Don’t sleep on radishes or spring onions either. Basically, if it’s green and fresh, it’s in. Eat local and enjoy the flavour while it lasts, along with the glorious sunshine we’re having.
