Based on Jonathan Safran Foer’s critically acclaimed book of the same name and produced and narrated by Natalie Portman, Eating Animals is a fascinating – and at times disturbing – investigation into the industrial system known as factory farming in the US, the source of nearly all of the meat, eggs and dairy consumed by Americans. As the film demonstrates, this system destroys our environment, harms public health and causes unimaginable suffering. The film spotlights the heroic farmers, whistleblowers and innovators who are standing up, against all odds, to fight this system and suggest a new way forward.
