Update on our brand new community space

We are really excited to bring you the first in a long line of updates about our brand new community space.

Last year we successfully crowdfunded to raise money to convert our HQ, the place we have called home since the late 1960s in to a modern, vibrant, flexible community space, which will include a large hall, professional kitchen, conference room and landscaped garden with food growing. Our new Jewish, vegan centre will become a hub for innovative activities and conversations around what it means to eat ethically – the first of its kind in Europe.

Since raising the funds we have been working hard behind the scenes to get everything lined up for the demolition and build. We are on schedule for starting works in the early winter of this year, with an expected build time of 3-3.5 months.

With Brexit has come a sharp rise in the cost of the materials we need for the project (all of which come from Europe), we are therefore continuing to welcome donations of any size to our fund, which will increase instantly by 25% thanks to Gift Aid (applicable to UK taxpayers only).

We are delighted to unveil the first of our artist’s impression of what the outside space will look like below, with a glass extension that lets light flood in, and provides the hall with unspoiled views of the garden.

Stay tuned for more updates.
