Calderdale Council (W.Yorks) to serve only vegan food at official events

Calderdale Council in West Yorkshire is planning to serve exclusively vegan catering at meetings and receptions if a new food policy is approved. The move forms part of its climate leadership strategy as it pursues net zero emissions for the region by 2038. The council aims to favour seasonal and minimally processed plant based meals to reduce the high greenhouse gas emissions tied to meat and dairy production.
