Shavuot is the festival celebrating the giving of the Torah and the early summer harvest. Traditionally, dairy dishes like cheesecake and blintzes take centre stage. Going vegan does not mean missing out. Join us for our garden party and jam on 1 June 2025!! If you’re deciding what to cook or bake for vegan Shavuot, try swapping dairy with creamy oat or cashew-based alternatives. Vegan cheesecake with a biscuit base and coconut cream topping hits the spot. You can also make savoury lasagne using plant-based ricotta and béchamel. Add fresh seasonal veg like asparagus or peas for that early taste of summer. For dessert, think almond milk rice pudding or strawberry tarts. Shavuot is also about community and learning, so gather your mates, share your food and enjoy a mindful, planet-friendly celebration that respects tradition without compromising on ethics or flavour.
