On the 27th Feb 2-4pm at Childs Hill Library, NW2 2QE local resident Fran Welch is organising a free Seed Swap.
‘We’ll be swapping seeds (plants welcome too), stories and talking plans for the community Everyone is welcome (even if you don’t have any seeds to bring)!’
This inaugural seed swap also marks the start of the free Seed Library in Childs Hill; this new seed bank will enable locals to take a few seed varieties each year for free to grow in the local community/gardens/allotments and give tips on how to save seeds to donate some back to the library.
This project will encourage and educate children and adults to grow more flowers, vegetables and the importance of saving seeds in fighting disease and growing the healthiest plants possible. This seed library forms part of a wider network of similar London-wide operations such as the London Freedom Seed Bank, who offer free seeds and take donations from London residents.
