On Sunday 26th October, JVS had its first Half Term Family Event. The day was centred around community; children between the ages of 1–10 all played together while the parents got to know one another. The morning began with storytime, where everyone listened to books about animals and the world we live in. Following this we coloured together, played with playdough and got to know one another.
Lunchtime was healthy, plant-based and kid-friendly; we enjoyed fresh pasta, veggies, fruit, veggie straws and hummus. After this we baked organic banana and oat cookies, with James and Aimee lending their helping hands in the kitchen, measuring, stirring, and popping every batch in the oven. As they baked, we all went into the garden to play. We ran around playing games including Stuck in the Mud, What’s the Time Mr Wolf, Bulldog and It. The afternoon came to a close as the cookies came out of the oven and everyone headed home for the day.
It was a joyful day filled with laughter, learning, and connection, bringing together families in a relaxed and welcoming space. We can’t wait to host more events like this and continue building our growing community.
