How to talk to your politicians about climate change – by faith for the climate

Quakers in Britain, with Eco Synagogue and the Faith for the Climate Network, are delighted to offer this fantastic free three hour training workshop to our members and people of all faiths.

*Free event (not run by JVS). Booking essential, book here.

Hope for the Future offers training in how to effectively engage politicians on climate change. Based in 6 years of first-hand campaigning experience, researching the best conditions for effective engagement, Hope for the Future takes a relationship-building approach to lobbying, which has now been trialled and tested by ordinary people with over 100 MPs across the UK, with a 100% success rate in securing positive outcomes from MP meetings.

Hope for the Future's training covers how to build alliances with even the most difficult of decision makers, and conversation techniques to engage MPs from right across the political spectrum. Bringing together a number of disciplines including conflict resolution, climate communications research, counselling techniques, and an understanding of council and parliamentary procedures, we aim to equip you with the tools to maintain a thriving working relationship with those who represent you on a local, national and international level.

Our three hour training offers a step by step guide in getting your politician on side and securing tangible outcomes from your meeting with them. We’ll cover persuasion research, negotiation theory, influence techniques and so much more, with opportunities for questions and discussion.

This three hour workshop is open to all people of all faiths, and is suitable for seasoned campaigners, or those meeting their MP for the first time, and especially for those looking to build an ongoing dialogue with their MP on climate change.

Please note this three hour training is open to Quakers, members of Eco Synagogue, and members of the Faith for the Climate Network (please book on to this training separately if you are also coming to the morning FFTC network meeting at Friends House) and to all people of faith - whether or not you/your organisation are FFTC network members already - all are very welcome.
